Privacy Policy
1. Data Security: PDFUnzip is a fully client-side application. All file processing, image extraction, and ZIP archive generation happen exclusively in your web browser using local scripts. Your files never leave your device.
2. Collection of Personal Information: PDFUnzip collects zero personal data. No IP addresses, no document metadata, no browsing history. Your files and their contents exist only on your device.
3. Authorization: Downloading extracted images requires a Google sign-in. Your account email is used solely for identification and to preserve your purchases and usage limits across sessions.
4. Feedback: Messages sent through the “Write to the author” form are delivered to pdfunzip@gmail.com. Replies go to the email you provided (or your account email if signed in). Your address is used exclusively for this conversation — no mailing lists, no third-party sharing.
5. Technical Verification: Privacy claims are independently verifiable. Open Developer Tools (F12) → Network tab → upload a PDF → observe zero file uploads to any server. All processing runs via WebAssembly inside your browser. Source code is available for audit upon request.
6. Analytics: PDFUnzip uses Umami — a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool — to understand aggregate usage patterns (page views, traffic sources, countries). Umami sets no cookies, tracks no individual users, and collects no personal data. Your files stay on your device.
7. Google Sign-In: PDFUnzip uses Google OAuth for authentication. During sign-in, Google shares your email address, display name, and profile picture with PDFUnzip. This data is used exclusively to identify your account, preserve your purchases, and maintain your daily usage limits across sessions. PDFUnzip never posts to your Google account, never accesses your Drive or Gmail, and requests only non-sensitive scopes (openid, email, profile).
8. Third-Party Services: PDFUnzip relies on a small number of trusted processors to operate: Supabase (hosting profiles and purchases), Gumroad (payment processing), Resend (support email delivery), and Umami (privacy-first analytics). Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and contractual obligations. No provider receives your PDF files or extracted images — these remain on your device.
9. Data Retention and Deletion: Profile and purchase data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time via the “Delete account” button in your profile dropdown. Deletion is immediate and irreversible — your profile, purchases, and authentication credentials are permanently removed from all systems. For additional deletion requests, email pdfunzip@gmail.com.
10. Children: PDFUnzip is not intended for users under the age of 13. The service does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to PDFUnzip, please contact pdfunzip@gmail.com for prompt removal.
